What is a Hidden Mickey?

For the uninitiated, a Hidden Mickey is an intentional, subtle depiction of Mickey Mouse’s head and ears, typically formed by three circles. They can be found in various forms: patterns, shadows, arrangements of objects, or even natural formations. Spotting them is a cherished Disney tradition and a fantastic way to engage with the intricate details of the parks.

Future World: Innovating with Hidden Magic

Epcot’s Future World (now World Discovery, World Nature, and World Showcase) is brimming with scientific marvels and imaginative attractions. Keep your eyes peeled for these elusive Mickeys:

  • Spaceship Earth:
    • Roman Scrolls: After the burning Rome scene, in the library setting, look left. Three scrolls on a table form a classic Mickey.
    • Monk’s Ink Stain: As you enter the Renaissance scene, look above and slightly to the right of the hunched monk; an ink stain on his paper makes a Mickey.
    • Painter’s Palette: Towards the end of the Renaissance scene, just before the painter and sculptor, three colorful paint rings on a table form a Mickey.
  • Journey Into Imagination with Figment:
    • Whiteboard: In the Sight Lab scene, a small Hidden Mickey is in the bottom corner of a whiteboard.

    • Lush Mural (Garden Grill): While dining at Garden Grill, look closely at the massive mural depicting plants and vegetation. A Hidden Mickey peeks out from behind some horizontal ferns.
    • Film Montage: In the film montage after the farm scene, one of the pictures shows Epcot greenhouse technicians with Mickey-shaped nametags.
  • The Seas with Nemo & Friends:
    • Rock Formation: Look on the aquarium floor for a clever arrangement of rocks forming a classic Hidden Mickey.
    • Coiled Hose: In the red-lit room with various fish tanks, a coiled hose on the right side forms a Hidden Mickey on the floor.
